How to legally deal with a car blocking your driveway

There's nothing more frustrating than walking out of the house all excited for a concert night only to find out your driveway is blocked with an unknown car. As soon as you realize the car owner is nowhere to be found, the excitement turns into annoyance, anger, and so much more.

Though most people do not understand the consequences, parking on someone else's property is against the law. The property owner can call the police, get it towed by a Lincoln tow truck, or take legal actions to sue the driver who parks illegally in their driving space.

Take the following actions to deal with such ignorant people legally.

Talk to the person (politely)

If this is the first time your driveway is blocked, a mature solution is to have a word with the vehicle owner in a convincing tone. Make them realize the inconvenience it causes and the legality of the situation. In case you can't find the driver, leave a note on their car's window saying, "do not park in my space."

Call the police

Of course, some drivers are disrespectful towards your request. In such a case, it's best to call the police for help. The police can either tow the car themselves, or they can issue a ticket, so you have the legal notice to get someone else's vehicle towed by a towing service. But remember, the towing fee is on you in both situations, and the storage fee is on the vehicle owner.

Contact blocked driveway towing services

Private property towing service is a lifesaver. Once you have the legal police notice for the illegally parked vehicle, you can call the blocked driveway towing service in your area. A Lincoln tow truck will remove the unwanted car from your driveway, so you are free to go anywhere you want.
